Actor Zareen Khan recently posted an old video with Katrina Kaif where she is seen approaching Katrina for an autograph. In the video, Katrina seems to be having a displeased expression on her face as she is signing on a book, leading to some online trolling of the actor. Now, Zareen has opened up about posting the video, saying that she didn’t mean any harm.
In an interview with Hindi Rush, Zareen said, “I found it so sad. I posted the video because it brought back a happy memory, but people are hungry for dirt, and that’s what they did. In the video, I’m smiling from ear-to-ear like a fool. Katrina is a superstar. In those days, actors weren’t as comfortable as they are now with blending in with their fans. It wasn’t like everybody had access to stars earlier, so we can’t expect to be treated like best friends.”
She added, “I was a fan, and she was the star. Maybe something was going on in her mind that we aren’t aware of. It’s only others who are pointing out her expression, but for me, it was a special moment. If Katrina got trolled, so did I."
Talking about Katrina’s expressions, Zareen said, “She might have had 50 other things on her mind, she might have signed so many autographs already. Who knows? Sometimes, you’re not in a good mood because of some personal issues. I don’t think there was anything negative."
The video was from the premiere of Katrina’s Race (2008). Zareen posted it on her social media and the video invited reactions from users, who noted Katrina’s change of expressions as she signed for Zareen. The latter was excited in the video while Katrina donned a serious look and didn’t make eye contact with Zareen.
Zareen is often said to be a lookalike of Katrina. She made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan’s Veer (2010).
